This is one of the most popular musical instruments in Sri Lankan local dance. It is one of the main percussion instruments used in Buddhist rituals in Sri Lanka.  This can be seen in temples and shrines.  This is made up of two drums. 

It uses two wooden sticks for playing.  This instrument is made of wood and animal skins.  Woods such as kohlrabi and jackfruit are used to make this.  People tie the knot and play this.  This drum makes a loud noise.  It is one of the most popular musical instruments in Sri Lanka.  Most men play this. There are special villages in Sri Lanka where this percussion instrument is played. But nowadays, in addition to those special people, others also play this instrument. This is a musical instrument unique to Sri Lanka.
