My favorite percussion instrument is the tabla. From a young age, I learned to play this musical instrument. The tabla is the main percussion instrument of North Indian music.  Widely used in North Indian music.  This consists of 2 parts. 

Takes on a hemispherical shape.  Made of metal and wood.  This was produced by Amir Kushru. The tabla is used for classical music.  He sits and plays the tabla. It is a very popular instrument in Sri Lanka.  The tabla is played in several ways. This is a bit hard to play. But the tabla is one of the most popular musical instruments. The tabla is an indispensable instrument of classical music in Sri Lanka. Tabla is taught as a subject in schools and universities.
