This has an oriental origin. It is a keyboard instrument that is like an organ.  It makes sound by blowing air through reeds. It was first invented by Alexandre Debain in 1840 in France. It is used in India, Pakistan, Nepal, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and in other South Asian countries. A harmonium can be made to work using the hands.
